About object keys

An object key is a key or key sequence that is associated with a graphic object and has had its usual action redefined by assigning a Command or macro to it. It can have separate press, repeat, and release actions assigned. To see the list of keys that can be redefined as object keys, click the down arrow beside the Key input box in the
Add Key
dialog box.
TIP:
If a key or key sequence has more than one action defined for it, for example it has an object key action and a display key action assigned to it, the object key action takes precedence. This means the object key action will be performed but the display key action will not.
Object keys always take precedence over FactoryTalk View reserved keys.
Command line parameters are not available in
Test Display
mode.
Up to 100 object keys can be attached to an object, with up to 100 objects per graphic display having such attachments.
