Add an OPC UA server endpoint

Add an
OPC
UA server endpoint so an
OPC
UA client can connect to
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
through a different URL with different endpoint properties. A minimum of one
OPC
UA endpoint is required per
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
UA server.
To add an
OPC
UA server endpoint
  1. From the
    Start
    menu, select
    Rockwell Software >
    FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
    Configuration
    .
  2. Expand
    OPC UA Server
    , select
    EndPoints
    .
  3. Select
    Add
, and then set the endpoint properties:
    • Name:
      Sets the name for the
      OPC
UA server endpoint. The name must be unique. The server name displays in the
      OPC
UA namespace and is included in the full tag path for all nodes provided by the server.
    • Address:
Sets the hostname or IP address of this computer.
    • Port:
Sets the port number for the
      OPC
UA server endpoint. The port must be unique. The default port is 4990 and increments by 1 for each additional endpoint.
    • URL:
Sets the network path to the
      OPC
      UA Server. Use
      Copy
to copy the URL into the windows clipboard, so it can be pasted into the OPC UA Client.
    • Security Policy:
Displays whether security is required or optional for connections between
      OPC
      UA clients and the
      FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
      OPC
      UA server. In
      FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
6.00, this is limited to None.
    • Security Mode:
Displays the security method required for connections between
      OPC
      UA clients and the
      FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
      OPC
      UA server. In
      FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
6.00, this is limited to None.
    • Log diagnostic message on tag write:
Sets whether a diagnostic message is logged to the
      FactoryTalk Diagnostics
every time a tag is written by an
      OPC
UA client. The default setting is enabled.
