To help you isolate, diagnose, and correct any problems you may experience using

, use the following troubleshooting tools:

FactoryTalk Diagnostics

event log

FactoryTalk Diagnostics

provides the ability to log errors, warnings, and other status messages generated throughout a

FactoryTalk

-enabled system to a central location called an event log.

If you encounter a problem, you can review the events in the log that led up to the problem to assist in determining the cause, or you can monitor the log to identify potential problems and take corrective action before a problem occurs. To view messages logged to the Local Log, open the

FactoryTalk Diagnostics

Viewer

on the computer where the alarm server resides.

Predefined items

Predefined items are internal counters or strings that are made available by data providers as data items for diagnostic purposes. Predefined items provided by data providers access internal information contained in

FactoryTalk Linx

and do not require reads.

to access predefined items.
