Alarm and Event Summary Properties - Appearance tab

The check boxes in this area are used to control the display of interface elements in the Alarm and Event Summary.

To show column headings, select this check box. To hide column headings clear this check box.

To show horizontal grid lines between rows in the event list, select this check box. To hide horizontal grid lines between rows in the event list, clear this check box.

To show vertical grid lines between columns in the event list, select this check box. To hide vertical grid lines between columns in the event list, clear this check box.

To show a horizontal scrollbar if the information displayed in the Alarm and Event Summary is wider than the Alarm and Event Summary object, select this check box. If the information displayed outside of the visible area of the Alarm and Event Summary is not relevant to the operator, or if scrolling the event list obscures important information that must always remain visible, clear this check box.

To show a vertical scrollbar if the information displayed in the Alarm and Event Summary is taller than the Alarm and Event Summary object, select this check box. If the information displayed outside of the visible area of the Alarm and Event Summary is not relevant to the operator, or if scrolling the event list obscures important information that must always remain visible, clear this check box.

To show the details pane, select this check box. To hide the details pane, clear this check box.

To show the toolbar, select this check box. To hide the toolbar, clear this check box.

To show the status bar at the bottom of the Alarm and Event Summary, select this check box.

To show tooltips for the buttons on the toolbar, select this check box. To hide tooltips for the buttons on the toolbar, clear this check box.

To show the solid border line in the Alarm and Event Summary, select this check box. To hide the solid border line in the Alarm and Event Summary, clear this check box.

Select an icon style to show.

The settings in this area control the appearance of the column heading in the event list at the top of the Alarm and Event Summary.

To select a color for the text in the column headings, click the color box.

Choose a color that contrasts well with the background color of the details pane. Bear in mind that contrast levels might be different on different monitors, therefore choose high-contrast combinations such as black and white.

To select a color for the background for the column headings, click the color box.

Choose a color that contrasts well with the text color of the column headings for better visibility.

To select a font for the text in the column headings, click the

Browse

button.

The settings in this area control the appearance of the text in the rows of the event list at the top of the Alarm and Event Summary.

To select a color for the text in items that are selected in the event list, click the color box.

To select a color for the background of items that are selected in the event list, click the color box.

To select a font for the text in the rows of the event list, click the

Browse

button.

The settings in this area control the appearance of the grid in the event list at the top of the Alarm and Event Summary.

To select a color for the horizontal and vertical grid lines in the event list at the top of the Alarm and Event Summary, click the color box.

To select a background color for the event list at the top of the Alarm and Event Summary, click the color box.

The settings in this area control the appearance of the information displayed in the details pane at the bottom of the Alarm and Event Summary.

To select a color for the text that is displayed in the details pane, click the color box.

Choose a color that contrasts well with the background color of the details pane. Bear in mind that contrast levels might be different on different monitors, therefore choose high-contrast combinations such as black and white.

Choose a color that contrasts well with the color of the text in the details pane.

To select a font for the text in the details pane, click the

To size the details pane, type a percentage value for the size of the details pane relative to the Alarm and Event Summary object, or use the up or down arrows to set the value.

The settings in this area control the appearance of the toolbar that is displayed at the top of the Alarm and Event Summary.

To configure the appearance of Alarm Status Explorer when it is displayed at runtime from the Alarm and Event Summary, click the

Browse

button, then set the options available under

Configuration options

.

To select a default font for text that is sent to a printer, click the

Browse

button.

To select a color for the caption text on the buttons in the toolbar, click the

Text color

box.

To select a background color for the toolbar buttons click the

Background color

box.

To select a font for the caption text on the buttons in the toolbar, in the

Font

box type or select the font you want to use.

Choose a font that is designed for on-screen viewing. Avoid decorative fonts that are difficult to read at small sizes.

To select a size for the icons in the toolbar, in the

Icon size

box, click the down arrow and make a selection.

Use larger icon sizes for touch-screen terminals.

To select a position for the toolbar relative to the Alarm and Event Summary, in the

Position

box, click the down arrow and make a selection.

The settings in this area control the appearance of the status bar that is displayed at the bottom of the Alarm and Event Summary.

To select a font for the text in the status bar, in the

Font

box, type or select the font you want to use.

The font size is set automatically, based on the size of the icons in the status bar.

To select a size for the icons in the status bar, in the

Icon size

box, click the down arrow and make a selection.

The size of the icons determines the height of the status bar and the size of the font for text in the status bar. Use larger icon sizes for touch-screen terminals.
