Log on to a FactoryTalk system

Log on to any
FactoryTalk
 product, such as
FactoryTalk Administration Console
, and the product opens the
Log On to FactoryTalk
 tool, which is used to log in and log off
FactoryTalk
. These policy settings determine log on behavior:
  • Badge Login Security Policy Properties
    , log in using an RFID badge, a username and password, or an RFID badge and password.
    When enabled, Badge login capability allows for either faster sign-on by users just scanning their badge or additional security by requiring that users have both a badge and password.
  • Security Policy Properties
    , log in and out of
    FactoryTalk
     products individually, or through "single sign-on" mode.
    When enabled, single sign-on capability allows one log on, per directory, on a given computer. Once logged on, all participating
    FactoryTalk
     products that run in that directory on that computer automatically use those same security credentials. This allows working with multiple
    Rockwell Automation
     products simultaneously, without having to log on to each software product separately.
    IMPORTANT:
    When single sign on is enabled, closing
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
     or other
    FactoryTalk
     products does not log off of
    FactoryTalk
    . To log off of
    FactoryTalk
    , either run
    Log On to FactoryTalk
     or log off of
    Windows
    .
