Reset a locked account

FactoryTalk
user accounts are automatically locked for a period of time after a certain number of failed logon attempts. After the lockout period, the account unlocks automatically. Change this behavior in the security policy settings.
Reset a locked account manually to avoid waiting until the lockout period expires.
To reset a locked
Windows
-linked user account, reset the account in
Windows
.
Prerequisites
Obtain these permissions in the
Users
folder in
FactoryTalk Administration Console
Explorer
:
  • Common > List Children
  • Common > Read
  • Common > Write
To reset a locked user account
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer
    , expand the
    FactoryTalk
    network or local directory tree, expand
    System
    >
    Users
    , right-click the user account, and select
    Properties
    .
  2. In
    General
    User Properties
    , clear the
    Account is locked
    check box, and select
    OK
    .
If an account with the same credentials is locked in both the network directory and the local directory, reset the account in both directories.
