Edit or view user account properties

Use these steps to view and edit the general properties of a
FactoryTalk
 user account, such as username and password, user description, user email address, and user login method. These properties are only viewable for a
Windows
-linked user account and cannot be edited. Use
Windows
 to edit the general properties of a
Windows
-linked user account.
Prerequisites
Obtain these permissions in the
Users
 folder in
FactoryTalk Administration Console
Explorer
:
  • Common > List Children
  • Common > Read
  • Common > Write
To edit or view user account properties
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    Explorer
    , expand the
    FactoryTalk
     network or local directory tree. Expand the
    System > Users and Groups
     folder to see the user account.
  2. Right-click the user account, and then select
    Properties
    .
  3. Edit the following tabs:
    • General
    • Group Membership
  4. Select
    OK
    .
    TIP:
    Changing the properties of a
    FactoryTalk
     user account in one
    FactoryTalk
     directory does not modify the properties in the other, even if the account has the same name in both directories. Before editing the properties of a user account, sign in to the
    FactoryTalk
     directory that contains the user account.
