Add a FactoryTalk Batch Server

Add and configure a
FactoryTalk® Batch
Server, including
FactoryTalk
Archiver properties, using the
FactoryTalk Batch Services Properties
dialog in
FactoryTalk Administration Console
.
TIP: For
FactoryTalk Batch
version 17.00 and earlier, continue to configure the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server, including associated
FactoryTalk
Archiver properties, using the
Server Options
dialog in
FactoryTalk Batch Equipment Editor
.
The configuration information for the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server provides centralized configuration for how batch services operate. This includes configuration information for the location of project files, restart behavior, event journal location and format, miscellaneous runtime settings, and setting up archiving and reporting.
Configure
FactoryTalk
Archiver properties to specify if and how electronic batch record files (
.evt
or
.evtj
) are inserted into the ODBC-compliant database.
Changes to items such as
FactoryTalk Batch
Server properties, the area model directory, and the error logging directory take effect after a
FactoryTalk Batch
Server restart. Changes to the recipe directory or journal directory also require a
FactoryTalk Batch
Server restart.
Changes to
FactoryTalk
Archiver properties do not require a
FactoryTalk Batch
Server restart. These changes take effect the next time the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server needs the property.
TIP:
FactoryTalk Batch
does not support the use of mapped drives. Do not use mapped drives for project directories.
