Help popup for alarm tables

How do I open the Help popup?
  1. Open an alarm table:
    • In the
      System Banner
      at the top of the screen, tap
      Alarm Status Indicator
      Icon: ViewRTAlarmsButton to open the
      Alarm Summary
      .
    • At
      the top of the Alarm Summary table, tap
      Alarm Manager
      ViewRTAlarmOptsMgrButton.png to open the
      Alarm Manager
      .
  2. From either the
    Alarm Summary
    or the
    Alarm Manager
    , tap
    Help
    Icon: ViewRTAlarmHelp.
The
Help
popup opens when pressing
Help
viewrtalarmhelpV5 on an HMI device. This popup shows a legend of icons that appear on the alarm screens and the task each button on an alarm table performs. The functions vary depending on the selected alarm table.

A legend for alarm functions you can perform on the alarm table. The alarm functions represent buttons on the alarm table. The functions you can perform vary depending on the selected alarm table:

Back
opens the previously displayed screen. When opening the
Alarm Manager
screen from the
Alarm Summary
screen, this button reopens the
Alarm Summary
screen.

Alarm Manager
opens the
Alarm Manager
screen. The
Alarm Manager
lists all alarms configured in the system and their current states. Therefore, the
Alarm Manager
shows alarms not shown in the
Alarm Summary
, and provides additional tasks for alarms.

Details
hides or shows the
Details
pane, which contains the details of the last selected alarm. The
Details
pane appears on the bottom half of large alarm tables and replaces the list of alarms in medium alarm tables. If no alarm is selected, the
Details
pane is empty.

Select All
selects all of the alarms in the alarm table, including those not displayed on the current page of alarms.

Deselect All
deselects all alarms in the alarm table, including those not displayed on the current page of alarms.

selects all of the alarms displayed on the current page of alarms.

Reset Latched Alarms
sets the selected latched state of the alarm to Normal if the input of the alarm has returned to normal. Resetting a latched alarm acknowledges the alarm, if it is not acknowledged.

Reset Alarm Counts
resets the alarm count in the controllers and the Alarm Count value in the
Details
pane of the Alarm Manager table to zero. The reset is performed for all conditions of the currently selected alarm.

Pause
stops updates to the Alarm Summary table for 10 seconds or until performing another operation on the table. While updates to the Alarm Summary table are paused, alarms in the controllers are still evaluated. When the table is no longer paused, any changes to alarm states are reflected in the table and updates resume.

Disable
stops the alarm condition from being evaluated. In effect, this turns off the selected alarm. This button disables the entire alarm. It is not possible to disable an individual alarm condition.

Enable
enables the selected alarms in the Alarm Manager
table. Enabling an alarm allows the alarm condition to be evaluated, in effect turning on the alarm. Enabling an alarm enables all of the conditions for that alarm. Enabling an individual alarm condition is not allowed.

Shelve
prevents the notification of new state changes to the selected alarm if the alarm is acknowledged. Updates to the alarm do not appear. The alarm remains shelved until the shelve duration from the controller expires automatically or until manually unshelving the alarm. Updates to the alarm then resume.
Shelving an alarm in the Alarm Summary table shelves only the selected alarm conditions. Shelving an alarm in the Alarm Manager table shelves all of the conditions of the alarm. From the condition list in the
Details
pane of the Alarm Manager table, shelve individual alarm conditions.
Change the Shelve Duration and Max Shelve Duration using
Logix Designer
. Change the Shelve Duration and Max Shelve Duration values using
Logix Designer
in order to propagate updated values to the Alarm Summary and Alarm Manager clients. Use the previous Shelve Duration and Max Shelve Duration values when shelving alarms in
Studio 5000
alarm tables.
unshelvev5
Unshelve
unshelves the selected alarm in the Alarm Manager table. Unshelving allows notification of new state changes to alarms. From the condition list in the
Details
pane of the Alarm Manager table, unshelve individual alarm conditions.

Acknowledge
indicates that you are aware of the alarm. This button changes the state of the alarm from unacknowledged to acknowledged.

Date filter
. Select the box and enter a date and time to list only the alarm state change records that occurred between the chosen date and time and the present. Select the checkbox on the right side to activate the filter.
Alarm_History_Viewer_Refresh_button
Refresh
loads the latest alarm state changes from the alarm history. You can also exit and enter the screen with the Alarm History again to refresh with the latest changes.
