Example: Security by inclusion

To set up security for a system that has two restricted graphic displays (Boiler and Reactor), and different users with different restrictions to access, you could do the following:
In the
Graphics
editor:
  • Assign security code A to the graphic display
    Boiler
    .
  • Assign security code B to the graphic display
    Reactor
    .
  • Assign no security code to other displays.
In the
Runtime Security
editor:
  • Turn off (N) the access rights to code A for all User1 type users. These users can log on, view all the displays except the Boiler, and log off.
  • Turn off (N) the access rights to code B for all User2 type users. These users can log on, view all the displays except the Reactor, and log off.
  • Turn off (N) the access rights to both codes A and B for default users. These users can log on, view all the displays except the Boiler and the Reactor, and log off.
