Specify grid settings for a display

A grid helps you size and position objects precisely. You can change the grid settings any time while you are drawing. You can also use the
View
menu items
Show Grid
to turn grid visibility on and off, and
Snap On
to activate or de-activate the grid.
To set up the grid for a display
  1. Select
    Grid Settings
    from the
    View
    menu.
  2. Select the attributes and spacing for the grid.
  3. Click
    OK
    .
    TIP:
Font sizes are not given in pixels. If you want to place text on the grid lines you will have to make the vertical grid slightly larger to accommodate the font. For example, if the font size is 10, and the grid is 10 x 10, the font will not fit correctly. If you make the grid 10 x 16, increasing the vertical grid by 6 pixels, a size 10 Arial font will fit. The amount you have to increase may vary from font to font.
The grid settings apply to all subsequently opened displays.
