Specify a working folder

When you run a Rockwell Automation Compare on an item in Archive, the software retrieves files from Archive and stores them in a working folder on your computer. This saves retrieval time if you run another compare on the same version of that item.
To specify a working folder
  1. Select
    Tools > Options
    .
  2. In the left column, click
    Compare Configuration
    .
  3. Click
    Browse
     and then navigate to (or create) the folder you want to set as the working folder. Click
    OK
    . The software adds an Archive subfolder to the path you designate. Retrieved files are stored in this Archive folder.
    Alternatively, click
    Restore Default
     to reset the working folder to the default.
    The default path is
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Rockwell\FactoryTalk AssetCentre\Archive
    .
  4. A message asks if you want to delete the old working folder. Click
    Yes
     to delete the old working folder and its contents or
    No
     to change the working folder, but retain the old folder and its contents.
  5. Click
    OK
     in the
    Options
    dialog box.
