Items in Block Options dialog box (Siemens)

For each type of block, type the block numbers to exclude from the comparison. Separate multiple blocks with a semicolon (;). Indicate a range with a dash (-).

For example:

1;5-7;12

excludes block numbers 1, 5, 6, 7, and 12.

Siemens S7 Controller (STEP7) only

Select this check box to exclude all system data blocks.

Siemens S7 Controller (STEP7) only

Select this check box to compare the length and structure (data type) of the data blocks. This comparison ensures that important changes to the length and structure of blocks (such as changing the structure of a value, or deleting a value) are detected even if the data block is excluded from the compare. It also detects if a whole data block is added or removed. This setting detects content changes as well as changes to the length and structure.

Clear this check box to compare only the content (values) of the data blocks, but not the length and structure.

Siemens S5 only

This option applies only to excluded blocks.

Select this check box to look for changes to the length of excluded data blocks (but not the data values). This comparison ensures that important changes to the length of blocks (such as adding or deleting a value) are detected for data blocks that are excluded from the compare. It also detects if a whole data block is added or removed.

Clear this check box to compare neither length nor structure (values) for excluded blocks. No changes to excluded blocks will be detected.
