Configure I/O modules

While adding Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller, Allen-Bradley MicroLogix Controller, Allen-Bradley PLC-5 Controller, or Allen-Bradley SLC 500 Controller assets to the asset tree or editing asset properties, configure I/O modules that are associated with the assets.
To configure I/O modules
  1. If you are not in Design mode, click design_mode_button.
  2. In the device asset's properties dialog box, under the
    Controller I/O
    category, click the
    Controller I/O Listing
    box, and then click browse_button_small.
  3. Add, delete, or load I/O modules:
    • To add I/O modules:
      • If this is the first time of configuration, click the empty cell of each column and enter the name and value.
      • If one or multiple I/O modules exist, click
        Add I/O
to generate an empty row, and then click the empty cell of each column and enter the name and value.
        TIP:
The module name must be unique, and the catalog number cannot be empty.
As you enter a catalog name on the bottom row, an empty row is generated beneath it, making it easy for you to configure another I/O module. Double-clicking the catalog name cell of the bottom row also generates an empty row beneath it.
Only one empty row can be added each time. If an empty row already exists or is just generated, clicking
        Add I/O
opens a message window, indicating that the catalog number cannot be empty.
    • To delete I/O modules, select the check box of a single row or select the check box on the top row to select all existing I/O modules, click
      Delete I/O
      , and then click
      Yes
      when prompted to confirm.
    • (For Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller only) To load I/O modules from the latest or pinned version of the configuration data file, click
      Overwrite with Current ACD
      , and then click
      Yes
      when prompted to confirm.
Loading the I/O modules will replace all existing I/O modules.
      TIP:
To load I/O modules, the configuration data file must be configured and Studio 5000 Logix Designer with the same version as the configuration data file must be installed.
  4. Click
    OK
    .
