in this dialog box abandons any changes made to the device properties, but leaves the device in the tree.Be aware of the following before adding or connecting to an Allen-Bradley Stratix Switch:
- FactoryTalk AssetCentre supports Allen-Bradley Stratix Switches that are enabled with the password authentication method. If the Allen-Bradley Stratix Switch is enabled with the public-key or keyboard-interactive method only, you need to turn on the password authentication method, so that the switch is supported by FactoryTalk AssetCentre.
- OnlyPasswordcan be defined as the command prompt for password for the device. Other command prompts cannot be recognized by FactoryTalk AssetCentre.
- Different validation methods may be defined on different lines in a connection session. In some cases, a validation method being used for the current line may not be applicable on a new line that has just become available for FactoryTalk AssetCentre to use.
- A line limitation may be defined for the Allen-Bradley Stratix Switch. If the number of connection sessions that FactoryTalk AssetCentre attempts exceeds the line limitation set up on the device, the connection to the device may fail.
- For some Allen-Bradley Stratix Switches with legacy firmware revisions, if the password has 26 or more characters, logging on to the device may fail with the SSH connection type.
- Only users with administrative privileges can perform Backup or Backup and Compare schedules on a Stratix Switch asset.TIP:If an extra file is created and configured to store the VLAN information as that of the vlan.dat file, only the vlan.dat file is backed up during schedules.
