Items on the History tab

Items on the
History
tab include:
  • Most recent 100 records
View the most recent 100 records. If there are fewer than 100 records in the file or binder's history, all records will be shown.
  • Records from date
View file or binder history records between specific dates. Select this option and click the drop-down arrows to select a start date and an end date from a calendar. This makes it easy to see what activity has occurred on a file during a specific time period. If there are more than 500 records between the specific dates,
    Newer Records
    and
    Older Records
buttons appear at the bottom of the window for you to show the additional records.
  • Version-related activities
View only activities related to versions of a file or binder. These activities include creating, checking in, promoting, and labeling.
  • All activities
View all activities related to versions of a file or binder.
  • Get Version
Retrieve a read-only version of the file or binder selected on the
    History
tab. This places an image of the file or binder into your current working folder, allowing you to use the file even if it is checked out by another user.
  • Pin Version
Mark the file selected on the
    History
tab as the master. This allows others to get this particular version of the file or binder while you continue editing it. If a pinned version of a file or binder exists, when users get the file or binder, they get the pinned (rather than the most recent) version. A pushpin icon appears next to the pinned version of a file or binder.
  • Remove Pin
Use this button to remove a pin from a file or binder to no longer have it marked as the master. Users who get the file or binder will then get the most recent version rather than the pinned version. This button appears only if you select a pinned version of a file or binder on the
    History
    tab.
  • Promote
Promote the file or binder version selected on the
    History
tab to the most recent version. A promoted file or binder is given a new version number.
  • Newer Records
Show the previous (more recent) page of records. This button only appears if there are more than 500 records in the list.
  • Older Records
Show the next (older) page of records. This button only appears if there are more than 500 records in the list.
