Items in Check out dialog box
Items in the dialog box include:
- Get local copySelect this option to check out a file or binder from the Archive database and place it in your working folder. The file or binder in your current working folder will be overwritten by the one checked out from the Archive database.Clear this option to preserve the file or binder in your current working folder. This is useful when you have edited a file or binder that you did not check out (by getting a writable version) and now want to put that version in Archive. Check out the file or binder without placing the version from Archive in your working folder and when you check in, your version will be placed inArchive.This option is not available when opening a file or binder from a desktop shortcut.
- Recursively check out files from subfoldersIf you check out an asset, you check out all files within the asset. Select this option to also check out all files located in the subfolders of the asset.This option is only available if you select an asset that contains files or binders. It is not available for binders; the checked in content of a binder is determined by the filters set up in the binder properties.This option is not available when opening a file from a desktop shortcut. (Opening from a desktop shortcut automatically checks out the file or binder.)
- Override working foldersSelect this option to override your current working folder and check out to a temporary working folder for this one check out operation only. Type the path of the temporary working folder (the working folder will be created automatically if it does not exist), or clickBrowseto select the path of the working folder you want to use temporarily.To override the working folder, you must haveConfigure Personal Archive Working FoldersandSet Working Folderspermissions.
- CommentsEnter an optional comment to summarize the reason for checking out the file or binder. This is helpful when tracking work done. The maximum length for a comment is 2,500 characters.
