Archive Check-out Integration with ThinManager Client

After configuring ThinManager Client, you can use FactoryTalk AssetCentre’s Archive check-out capability through ThinManager Client. The file
DataTypes.ACD
will be taken as an example to show how to configure ThinManager Client.
To Configure ThinManager Client
  1. In asset tree of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client, select the file
    DataTypes.ACD
    and then create a shortcut.

  2. Copy the shortcut to a specific folder. (For example:
    C:\Shortcuts
    )

  3. In ThinManager Server, expand the
    Display Clients
    tree and create a display client
    AssetCentre_datatypes_acd
    .

  4. Right-click the new display client and select
    Modify
    to open the
    Display Client Wizard
    window.
  5. Select
    Next
    to go to the
    Connection Options
    box, and then select the
    Application Link
    check box.

  6. Select
    Next
    to go to the
    AppLink Path
    box.
    Program Path and Filename
    Enter or browse the path of AppLauncher. (The default path is
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\AssetCentre Client\AppLauncher.exe
    .)
    Command Line Options
    Enter the command line and the path of the shortcut file. (For example:
    /configfile=“C\Shortcuts\datatypes.acd.alup”
    )

  7. Select
    Finish
    to save the changes.
    Then you can use ThinManager Client to perform FactoryTalk AssetCentre’s Archive check-out capability.
