Import the self-signed certificate to FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client, web client, and agent computers

On the
FactoryTalk AssetCentre
 server, desktop client, web client, and agent computers, add the self-signed certificate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities certificate store. After importing the certificate to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server, desktop client, web client, and agent computers, you must configure a firewall rule and web services URL if the default port is modified.
Before you begin
To import the self-signed certificate on operating systems
  1. Copy the created certificate on the computer.
  2. Double-click the certificate.
  3. Select
    Local Machine
    , and then select
    Next
    .

  4. When prompted to confirm the operation, select
    Yes
    .
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions until you get to the
    Certificate Store
     screen.
  6. On the
    Certificate Store
     screen, select
    Place all certificates in the following store
    .

  7. Select
    Browse
    , select
    Trusted Root Certification Authorities
    , and then select
    OK
    .

  8. Select
    Next
    .

  9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the import.
To verify the import operation
  1. Select
    Start
    , type
    mmc
    , and then press
    Enter
    .
    The Microsoft Management Console opens.
  2. Select
    File > Add/Remove Snap-in
    .
  3. In the
    Add or Remove Snap-ins
     dialog, select
    Certificates
    , and then select
    Add
    .

  4. In the
    Certificates snap-in
     dialog, select
    Computer account
    , and then select
    Next
    .

    Finish

  6. In the
    Add or Remove Snap-ins
     dialog, select
    OK
    .

  7. In the Microsoft Management Console, navigate to
    Console Root > Certificates (Local Computer) > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates
    , and verify that the certificate is listed.

  8. If the certificate is not listed, make sure to select
    Certificates
    under
    Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates
    , and then select
    Action > All Tasks > Import
    .
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the import.
