Manage user roles

You can manage user roles for an organization only if you are an administrator. The role assigned to you in
FactoryTalk® Hub
determines whether you can be a
FactoryTalk Design Studio
administrator. To be recognized as an administrator within your FactoryTalk Hub organization, you must have the Admin role assigned at either the organization level or
FactoryTalk Design Studio
service level. You cannot assign or unassign the Admin role from
User Management
outside of
FactoryTalk Hub

  1. To view the assigned role for every user in
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
    , on the Welcome page, select
    Open User Management
    .
    TIP: You can also select
    Help
    and then select
    User Management
    .
    User Management
    displays the name, email, and selected roles for each user in
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
    .
  2. In
    User Management
    , you can change and add assigned roles for a user by selecting the desired roles.
  3. To manage the roles assigned to users, in the upper-right corner of
    User Management
    , select
    Role Management
    .
  4. Use
    Role Management
    to:
    TIP: Users are granted all permissions associated with their assigned roles. Users can have multiple roles assigned to them in an organization.
