General HMI server properties for network station

The
General
tab displays information about the HMI server.
The following table shows common properties that are available for all HMI servers.
Property
Description
Name
Displays the name of the HMI server that was specified when it was created. You cannot change it.
Description
You can add text (up to 204 characters) to describe the HMI server or edit existing text if a description has been previously specified for this HMI server.
Project file
Shows the location of the HMI server's files.
Number of displays
Shows the number of graphic displays contained in the HMI server.
Licensed
Shows the maximum number of graphic displays allowed by the FactoryTalk View SE Server license. This is for information only.
To show the status of the HMI servers, FactoryTalk Alarm and Event servers, and data servers at runtime, add one of the following to the application:
  • A
    Server Status
    display under the
    Library
    folder.
  • A redundancy function, such as
    PrimaryServerStatus
    and
    SecondaryServerStatus
    .
The following table shows unique properties that are available for HMI servers of a network station application.
Property
Description
Computer hosting the server
Displays the name of the computer the HMI Server is on. To change the name of the host computer, the HMI project must exist on the computer that is going to be the host. You can type another computer name or click the browse button to search for and select one.
  • If the application has been restored from a .bak file, you need to rehost the HMI server.
  • After rehosting the HMI server, if the tags cannot be browsed in the tag browser, restart the host computer and try again.
