Rehost an HMI server

The applications restored from a .bak (BAK) file need to be rehosted. For more information about restoring a BAK file, refer to the
FactoryTalk
Help.
To rehost an HMI server, the HMI project must exist on the computer that is going to be the host.
To rehost an HMI server:
  1. Use the
    HMI Server Backup and Restore
    utility to restore the HMI server. For more information, refer to the HMI Server Backup and Restore utility help.
  2. Select
    Start >
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    .
  3. In the
    Application Type Selection
    dialog box, select the application type and click
    Continue
    .
  4. On the
    Existing
    tab, select the application and click
    Open
    .
  5. In the Explorer window, right-click the HMI server and select
    Properties
    .
  6. In the
    Computer hosting the server
    field, type another computer name or click
    Browse (...)
    to search for and select one.
