Draw a polygon, rectangle, or square

A polygon is a closed polyline shape.

To draw a polygon:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the toolbox, select Polygon_Tool.
  2. Drag Polygon_Tool to create the first segment of the object.
  3. To create a corner, point the tool where you want the corner to be, and then click the left mouse button. Repeat for each corner.
    TIP:
    To draw a horizontal or vertical edge, press
    Ctrl
    as you drag the tool.
  4. When the object is complete, double-click outside the object.
  5. In the
    Polygon Properties
     dialog box, change the styles if needed.
Use Rectangle_Tool to draw a rectangle or square.
To draw a rectangle or square:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the toolbox, select Rectangle_Tool.
  2. To draw a rectangle, drag Rectangle_Tool diagonally, until the rectangle is the desired size.
    To draw a square, press
    Ctrl
    while you drag Rectangle_Tool.
  3. In the
    Polygon Properties
    dialog box, change the styles if needed.
