Change the controller type

Use the
Change Controller
dialog box to change a controller to another controller or revision within the same platform (for example, changing from a 1769-L33ER controller to a 1769-L36ERM controller), or to another platform (for example, from a 1756-L71 controller to a 1769-L33ER controller).
The tasking model and instruction usage settings are available only when you use a P-controller. When changing controllers, the project must use a P-controller to access these two P-controller options. The tasking model option is enabled by default unless the existing project was changed to a P-controller from another controller type.
For information about Add-On Instructions, refer to the
Logix5000 Controllers Add-On Instructions Programming Manual
, publication 1756-PM010.
