From a safety controller to a standard controller

If the safety controller project contains safety Add-On Instructions, remove the Add-On Instructions from the project before changing the controller type.
When changing from a safety controller to a standard (non-safety) controller, some components change and others are deleted. As a result, safety-specific instructions and safety I/O tags do not verify.
Changes that may affect the project upon confirmation:
  • Safety partner deleted from the I/O chassis.
  • Safety task changed to a periodic task.
  • Deleted safety I/O modules and their tags.
  • Safety task, programs, and routines changed to a standard task, programs, and routines.
  • All safety tags, except safety consume tags, changed to standard tags. Deleted safety consume tags.
  • Deleted safety tag mappings.
  • Instructions may still reference deleted modules.
  • Deleted producing module causes deleted consumed tags.
  • Deleted controller Safety Network Numbers (SNNs).
  • Deleted safety-lock and safety-unlock passwords.
  • If the standard controller supports features not available to the safety controller, new features show in the
    Controller Properties
    dialog box.
Tip: Peer safety controllers are not deleted, even if they have no remaining connections.
