From a safety controller to a standard controller
If the safety controller project contains safety Add-On Instructions, remove the Add-On Instructions from the project before changing the controller type.
When changing from a safety controller to a standard (non-safety) controller, some components change and others are deleted. As a result, safety-specific instructions and safety I/O tags do not verify.
Changes that may affect the project upon confirmation:
- Safety partner deleted from the I/O chassis.
- Safety task changed to a periodic task.
- Deleted safety I/O modules and their tags.
- Safety task, programs, and routines changed to a standard task, programs, and routines.
- All safety tags, except safety consume tags, changed to standard tags. Deleted safety consume tags.
- Deleted safety tag mappings.
- Instructions may still reference deleted modules.
- Deleted producing module causes deleted consumed tags.
- Deleted controller Safety Network Numbers (SNNs).
- Deleted safety-lock and safety-unlock passwords.
- Tip: Peer safety controllers are not deleted, even if they have no remaining connections. If the standard controller supports features not available to the safety controller, new features show in theController Propertiesdialog box.
