Select an ODBC data source

Use
ODBC Database Destination Setup
 to select an ODBC data source.
TIP:
Alternatively, you may use
ODBC Database Destination Setup
 to create a new ODBC data source.
To select an ODBC data source
  1. Under
    ODBC Data Source
    , next to
    Data source name
    , type the path and file name of a system or file ODBC data source, or select
    Browse (...)
    to browse for an existing data source.
    If using
    Browse
    , the
    Select Data Source
     dialog box displays which lists the file and system data sources available on the computer where
    FactoryTalk Diagnostics
     is running.
    Either:
    1. Select a file data source
      • On the
        File Data Source
         tab,
        next to
        Look in:
         , select
        Browse (...)
        .
      • In
        Browse for Folder
         select a folder in which to search for an ODBC File data source. Select any file data source that refers to an ODBC driver installed on the local computer and select
        OK.
    2. Select a system data source
      • On the
        System Data Source
         tab, select one of the files listed.
  2. Select
    OK
    to return to
    ODBC Database Destination Setup
    .
    TIP:
    Beginning with
    FactoryTalk Services Platform
     version 6.30, the
    Log On
     account of
    FactoryTalk Diagnostics
     Local Reader
     service has been changed to a
    Local Service
     account. Due to permission limitations, the
    Local Service
     account may not have read access to the
    Data Source
     folder. Once you have selected a data source file and folder, and click
    OK
    , a warning message may show, asking whether you want to grant the
    Local Service
    account read permission for the selected folder. Select
    Yes
     to continue using the folder and grant read permission to the
    Local Service
     account. Select
    No
     to choose another folder.
