The
Unassigned
tab lists the devices that have not been assigned the IP address. Use the
Unassigned
tab to configure IP address or set up rules for automatic IP assignment.
Unassigned tab actions
Button
Descriptions
Add to Configuration
Used to add a MAC/IP address for the selected item to the configuration list.
Commission from range
Used to automatically assign IP addresses from a contiguous user defined set.
Commission from list
Used to guide the device startup sequence and IP address assignment process from items in the configuration list that do not have MAC address assigned.
Delete
Used to remove a device from the
Unassigned
list.
Export
Used to save the unassigned device list in a CSV file.
Filter
Used to limit the view of the
Unassigned
list to a set matching user entered text. Case-insensitive.
Expand
Used to adjust the window to only view the device list.
Block MAC
Used to add a MAC address to the
Blocked MAC
list. Any future BOOTP/DHCP requests from that address will not be listed in the
Unassigned
list and will not be assigned an IP address.

: Enable the MAC address blocking function in
Settings
.
View Assigned
Used to open and view the assigned list on the
Unassigned
tab.
Device properties
Field
Descriptions
Host name
The device name.
IP
The IP address for this device. If blank, the device is not able to communicate on the network.
MAC
The MAC address for this device. Assigned to the device when manufactured and provided from the device when a BOOTP/DHCP request is made.
Request type
The protocol that the device uses to request IP address (BOOTP/DHCP).
Status
The IP address assignment status and the reason for failed assignments will be listed.
The possible statuses include:
  • Succeed: IP address is successfully assigned.
  • Failed: Cannot assign IP address because the MAC address is not configured in the configuration list.
  • Failed: Cannot assign IP address because the IP address is empty.
  • Failed: Cannot assign IP address because the IP address is occupied.
  • Failed: Cannot assign IP address because the IP address is invalid.
  • Failed: Cannot assign IP address because the IP address is not in the subnet range.
Request date
The latest time that the device requested the IP address from the BOOTP/DHCP server.
Request count
The total number of times that the device requested the IP address from the BOOTP/DHCP server.
TIP:
  • You can select any column heading to sort the list by that column.
  • If text in the interface is truncated, you can hover your pointer over the item to see the information displayed as a tooltip.
