Maximum Anonymous Connections Setting
Description
This counter indicates the predefined maximum number of the anonymous OPC UA clients that are allowed to connect to the OPC UA server. Once this limit is reached, additional anonymous clients are unable to connect to the server until a connection slot becomes available due to a client disconnecting.
This value is configured in
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Configuration
> OPC UA Server
> Advanced Settings
> Connection
.
TIP:
- The sum of Active Anonymous Connections and Available Anonymous Connections should be the value of Maximum Anonymous Connections Setting.
- FactoryTalk Linx Gateway version 6.40.00 or earlier supports up to 100 anonymous connections. FactoryTalk Linx Gateway version 6.50.00 defaults to 50 anonymous connections, but this can be adjusted from 0 through 100.
- It is recommended to use authentication for OPC UA clients with FactoryTalk Security to reduce the likelihood that a high priority client is unable to establish a connection because of anonymous clients.
