FactoryTalk Linx configurations adoption

Three types of
FactoryTalk View
 applications can use
FactoryTalk Linx
 configurations:
  • Local stand-alone applications (created in
    FactoryTalk View SE
     or
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    )
  • Network (distributed) applications (created in
    FactoryTalk View SE
     Distributed)
  • FactoryTalk View ME
     applications
To begin using
FactoryTalk Linx
, you must first add it to a
FactoryTalk
 application, which is created in a
FactoryTalk Directory
. This can be done within the
FactoryTalk Administration Console
 environment, or with
FactoryTalk View SE
 Standalone,
FactoryTalk View SE
 Distributed, or
FactoryTalk View ME
 products.
FactoryTalk Linx
 configurations can be edited in both
FactoryTalk View Studio
 and
FactoryTalk Administration Console
.
FactoryTalk Administration Console
 is installed with
FactoryTalk
 Services.
Although many of the steps to configure
FactoryTalk Linx
 are shared between products, they have been grouped for clarity and convenience.
