Add a connection (ControlNet I/O)

Use the
Connection Properties
dialog box to assign logical connections to address blocks within the ControlNet Scanner's I/O table. The values you enter correspond to the scanlist you generated using the
RSNetWorx
Scanlist Configuration
tool.
TIP:
You must add an address block before you can enter a connection.
To add a connection to a ControlNet configuration
  1. Right-click an
    Address Block
    and then click
    Add Connection
    to display the
    Connection Properties
    dialog box.
  2. Set the starting address in the I/O table for the device in the
    Start Word
field. The Start Word must be within the parent address block.
  3. Set the
    Length in Words
field to the length of the address block (the amount of space in the input or output table) in words. The Length value must be within the parent address block.
  4. Set the
    Status Address
field to match that provided by the
    RSNetWorx
Scanlist Configuration tool. These values can be 0-252, even addresses only. The address must be unique for each connection, although it is possible for it to be shared between the input and output tables.
  5. Under
    Use for Connection Reporting
    , set the
    Node (MAC ID)
    and
    Slot
fields for use in the connection report.
    1. In the
      Node
field, select the node (MAC ID) of the connection (the device with which you want to communicate). Valid values are 0-17.
    2. In the
      Slot
field, choose the slot number of the connection (0-17).
  6. Click
    OK
to accept the values and close the dialog box.
