Configure I/O

FactoryTalk Linx
supports remote I/O (RIO), ControlNet I/O, and DeviceNet I/O configurations.
In remote I/O (RIO), a physical rack is represented by words of data that directly reflect the state of the I/O modules in the rack.
In a ControlNet I/O configuration or a DeviceNet I/O configuration, a communications interface card is physically attached to the host computer upon which the
FactoryTalk Linx
is running.
RSNetWorx for ControlNet
and
RSNetWorx for DeviceNet
are used to configure their respective communications interface cards.
TIP:
FactoryTalk Linx
can also access data from a remote ControlNet device (such as a
ControlLogix
controller via a 1756-CNB module). Use the RIO procedure to configure a remote ControlNet scanner.
