Communication Setup editor settings
These are the settings for the
FactoryTalk Linx
Communication Setup
editor.

Modifying this data at run time could cause unexpected results.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Device Shortcuts area | Use to add, remove, and modify shortcuts, and apply the shortcut properties to the selected shortcut name. |
Tabs | Contain a communications tree control representing the communication topology. Use the tabs to add, remove, and modify devices and drivers. Right-click the various nodes within the communication tree to display menu options. Depending on your product, you will see the following tabs:

Mode | Indicates whether you are Online or Offline . |
Browse status | Indicates if the FactoryTalk Linx is interrogating the network to determine if there are additional devices present. |
Shortcut Properties table | Indicates the properties associated with the selected shortcut. |
Shortcut options | Indicate the options associated with the selected shortcut type. Tip: If Unsolicited Message is selected in Shortcut Type , additional options display. |
Status Messages | Used to assist in configuring shortcuts. |
Verify | Click Verify to display the results of the Shortcut Verifier, which is a summary of the shortcut assignments and status messages. |
TIP:
Warnings have been added to
FactoryTalk
to tell users if making an edit in the development environment will adversely affect the runtime system. If the change is made through a dialog box, the
appears next to the component where the edit can be made. Hovering the cursor
over the icon shows the following warning:
