Alarm and Event Banner Properties - States tab
How do I open the Alarm and Event Banner Properties dialog box?
Properties are modified during design time. To open the
Alarm and Event Banner Properties
dialog box:- Open FactoryTalk View Studio.
- Add an Alarm and Event Banner object to a display.
- Right-click the Alarm and Event Banner object, and then clickProperties.
Use the
States
tab in the Alarm and Event Banner Properties
dialog box to configure the runtime appearance of alarms and events displayed in the Alarm and Event Banner to help the operator decide which events need the most immediate attention. The States
tab controls the display of alarms on the Alarm and Event Banner by alarm state, but not by alarm priority.Selecting colors, blinking, and sound for an alarm priority on the
States
tab does not make alarms of that priority appear in the Alarm and Event Banner. Display of alarm by priority is determined by subscribing to the specific event. When choosing colors, choose colors that provide good contrast, such as black text on a white background. Avoid low-contrast combinations such as blue text on a black background, or vice versa. Colors are not seen by all people equally. Do not rely on differences in color alone to establish meaning. The following table provides details about the settings on the
States
tab and how they can be used:Column | Description |
---|---|
Show event type | Controls the display of alarms on the Alarms and Event Banner based on the type of event. Once an alarm state is removed, the alarm is removed from the Alarm and Event Banner at runtime when the alarm enters that state. |
Priority - Urgent, High, Medium, Low, Event | Identifies the priority of the alarm. This information is read-only. |
Text color | The color for the message text of the alarm or event. Choose a color that provides good contrast with the text background for easy identification. |
Background color | The color of the background on which the message text of the alarm or event are displayed. Choose a color that provides good contrast with the text for easy identification. This setting does not affect the background color of the alarm list. |
Blink | Determines whether the text of the alarm or event will blink while the alarm state is in effect. The blink of alarm texts in the alarm list helps bring immediate attention when the alarm is in effect. You can determine if the text of a priority state blinks. |
Sound | Determines whether a sound will be played while the alarm state is in effect. |
Configure Sounds | Selects which sound effect to play when sound is enabled for an alarm state. |
