Alarm and Event Banner Properties - Event Subscriptions tab
How do I open the Alarm and Event Banner Properties dialog box?
Properties are modified during design time. To open the
Alarm and Event Banner Properties
dialog box:- Open FactoryTalk View Studio.
- Add an Alarm and Event Banner object to a display.
- Right-click the Alarm and Event Banner object, and then clickProperties.
To subscribe to events that match specific criteria use the
Event Subscriptions
tab in the Alarm and Event Banner Properties
dialog box.The
Event Subscription
tab contains a default subscription which includes all areas, priorities, and event sources. When a new subscription is created the default subscription is removed. You can specify as many, or as few, criteria as you need when creating an event subscription.Multiple subscriptions are combined together. The subscription criteria are combined using the logical AND operator. For example, checking only the priority Urgent, entering an area of
Packaging Line
and entering an event source of [BoxStuffer]*
will subscribe to Urgent alarms from the packaging line whose names begin with [BoxStuffer].The following table provides details about the settings on the
Event Subscriptions
tab and how they can be used:Setting | Description |

Event subscription list | Displays the subscriptions currently configured for the Alarm and Event Banner. |
Add | Used to add a new subscription. |
Subscription name | The name given to the subscription when it was created. |
Rename | Used to provide a new name for an existing subscription. All event subscription names must be unique. |
Remove | Used to remove the subscription and stop filtering alarm events on the subscription criteria. |
Priority level | Identifies the priority level of events displayed in the Alarm and Event Banner. |
Urgent, High, Medium, Low, Event | Used to filter alarm event based on priority level. |
Scopes list | Identifies the scope used to determine the events forwarded to the Alarm and Event Banner. The default scope is (Any Scope) , which is equivalent to selecting the top node in the Select Scope browser. |
Browse | Used to subscribe to events that fall within a given scope. |
Event sources list | Used to select specific areas, servers, or groups from which to monitor alarms using the Alarm and Event Banner. |
Browse | Used to identify specific alarms to subscribe to by browsing a list. |
Add | Used to identify specific alarms to subscribe to by providing the alarm name. |
