Alarm and Event Banner

The Alarm and Event Banner is a graphic object that you can use to view and interact with the most recent and highest priority alarms. The Alarm and Event Banner object can be configured to subscribe to alarms of certain priorities and from specific areas.
To create an Alarm and Event Banner object, add the object to a graphic display in
FactoryTalk View Studio
.

The top part of the banner is composed of the alarm list and the bottom part of the banner is the status bar.
TIP:
If the Alarm and Event Banner is started before any of the alarm servers in the application have started, the following message is shown in the alarm list, "Waiting for active server notification. Retrying initialization." Once the alarms servers have started, their information will be displayed.
  • Alarm list
The alarm list displays between 1 and 5 alarms. The alarms can be sorted by Alarm State, Priority, and Event Time in ascending or descending order. The default sort order is Event Time ascending.
  • Status bar
The status bar shows the status of the connections to alarm and event servers and the number of alarms in various states. Use the status bar to perform operations such as acknowledge alarms, silence the alarm bell, or show the Alarm and Event Summary display. If the terminal provides a keyboard for entering text, you can also use the
    Acknowledge with Comment
    option.
The size of the buttons determines the height of the status bar, relative to the size of the whole Alarm and Event Banner object. The button size also determines the font size of the text displayed in the status bar. Use larger icon sizes for touch screen operation.
    If the button size is:
