Security Settings-Inherit Permissions

How do I open Security Settings (inherit permissions)?
  1. Right-click a resource, then select
    Security
    .
  2. In
    Security Settings
    , select
    Do not inherit permissions
    .
By default, resources in
FactoryTalk
 inherit security permissions from a resource higher in the directory tree.
Before removing the inheritance of security settings, choose an option in
Security Settings
 to determine how to secure the resource.

Setting
Copy the current permissions from the parent object to this object
Copies the permissions that the resource currently inherits from parent resources as explicit permissions. Modify the permission set as needed.
Remove all inherited permissions from this object
Removes all inherited permissions from the resource, but leaves any explicitly defined permissions intact.
When removing all inherited permissions,
Read
 and
Configure Security
 permissions are automatically granted to the Administrators group. The Administrators group is always allowed both of these permissions.
