Server states

Server Status
displays the current state of the selected server. If the server is configured for redundancy,
Server Status
also displays the state of the server's redundant partner.
Server state
Description
<host> unreachable
This client computer cannot reach the computer hosting its server. This state applies if communications fail between this computer and the computer hosting the network directory server or HMI server.
If the computer hosting a secondary server is disconnected from the network, communications between the primary server and the host server continue uninterrupted. The primary server remains active but displays a state of
Active (Can't reach partner)
. The secondary server displays a state of
<host> unreachable
.
Active
The server is the active partner in an active-standby pair. If redundancy is not configured, the server is the
Active
server.
Active (Can't reach partner)
A pair of servers is configured for redundancy, but one of the servers cannot connect with its partner.
Failed
The server has failed. When redundancy is configured, the partner server provides service.
Loading
The server's processes are starting up, and the server is currently loading processes and components.
Not configured
Redundancy has not been configured for a secondary server.
Not loaded
The server is not currently in use and has not notified the system that it is running.
Ready to provide service
The server is ready to become the active server.
Standby
The server is the
Standby
partner in an active-standby pair. This state does not apply if servers are not configured for redundancy.
Starting
The server has finished loading its processes and components; it is currently reading configuration and performing other tasks in order to become available for use.
Synchronized - ready to be Active
The server is ready to become the active partner in an active-standby pair. From this state, the server transitions immediately to the
Active
state. This state does not apply if servers are not configured for redundancy.
Synchronized - ready to be Standby
The server is ready to become the standby partner in an active-standby pair. From this state, the server transitions immediately to the
Standby
state. This state does not apply if servers are not configured for redundancy.
Synchronizing with Active
The server is transitioning into the
Standby
state. This state does not apply if servers are not configured for redundancy.
