Add a redundant server
Set up redundancy for a server to provide a secondary server to take over when the primary server becomes unavailable.
When setting up a server for redundancy, keep these points in mind:
- The secondary server cannot be hosted on the same computer as the primary server.
- Both the primary and secondary servers must be configured identically.
- When changing the redundancy setting (from non-redundant to redundant or vice-versa), for the changes to take effect you must:
- Restart the computers hosting the redundant pair
- Restart the computer hosting theFactoryTalknetwork directory server
When logged into the
FactoryTalk
network directory, set up a redundant server
in any of the following:- FactoryTalk LinxServer Properties
- OPCDA Data Server Properties
- Tag Alarm and Event Server Properties
- FactoryTalk LinxOPC UA Connector Properties
- FactoryTalkBatch Server Properties
