New Project dialog box

How do I open the New Project dialog box?
  1. From the Studio 5000 launcher, select
    New Project
    .
  2. In the
    Project Types
     column, select
    Logix
    .
  3. Locate the controller for this project by expanding each controller category in the list or by typing a search term in the search bar.
  4. Select a controller from the list.
  5. In the
    Name
     box, type a name for the project file. The name is limited to 40 characters and must meet the IEC-61131 Name standard.
  6. (optional) In the
    Location
     box, type or browse to a location to store the project file.
  7. Select
    Next
    .
Use the
New Project
 dialog box to:
  • Configure project options for a new Logix Designer ™ project
Most controllers display the standard project configuration options. The CompactLogix 5370,  CompactLogix 5370 L1, and ControlLogix 5580 controllers display unique project configuration options.
