Create a Web Browser object

The Web Browser object provides the system with the ability to show webpages from an HMI application. The object supports connections for URL address and Internet navigation at runtime.
The Web Browser object uses Microsoft Edge (based on Chromium) as the default rendering engine. If you want, you can switch the rendering engine to Internet Explorer by adding a registry key.
  • Microsoft Edge rendering engine
By default, the context menu is disabled on the webpage. If you want, you can enable the context menu by adding a registry key.
  • Internet Explorer rendering engine
Some websites may not show correctly in Microsoft Edge. If this happens, you can use Internet Explorer as an alternative. However, there is no way to disable the context menu in Internet Explorer.
    TIP:
Some websites may show correctly in an older version of Internet Explorer but no longer work in a newer version. If you encounter this issue, consider changing the emulation mode for Internet Explorer and try again. For details about the emulation mode and supported values of Internet Explorer, see
    Browser Emulation
of Microsoft Docs: Internet Feature Controls.
