Draw objects that require setup

There are two different kinds of objects on the Objects menu that require setup information:
  • those whose setup dialog box opens automatically when you release the mouse button after drawing the object
  • those that you have to double-click once they are drawn, or right-click and then select Properties from the context menu, to open the Properties dialog box where you enter setup information
To create an object whose setup dialog box opens automatically:
  1. Choose the menu option or click the tool for the object you wish to draw, and then place the cursor on the display approximately where the object is to be.
  2. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the mouse to draw a box the approximate size the object is to be. When you release the mouse button the setup dialog for the object opens automatically.
  3. Enter the information required to set up the object
  4. Click the OK button to close the dialog box and save the setup information.
The objects you set up this way are: Button, Numeric Input, Numeric Display, String Input, String Display, Arrow, Tag Label, and Recipe.

    TIP:
The objects on the Objects > Advanced menu in the Graphics editor are a mix of these two types of objects that require set up.
