Copy the definition of an Add-On Graphic between projects
Copy the definition of an Add-On Graphic between projects to reuse the Add-On Graphic in another project. The content, properties, and behavior of the Add-On Graphic definition are copied. Any changes to the definition of the Add-On Graphic are copied to every instance of the Add-On Graphic in the project.
Add-On Graphics must have unique names. When copying the definition of an Add-On Graphic with the same name between projects, keep both Add-On Graphic definitions, replace the existing Add-On Graphic definition, or choose not to paste the Add-On Graphic definition.
Contents of the Add-On Graphic are handled in the same manner as the contents of any other screen copied between projects.
To copy the definition of an Add-On Graphic between projects
- Open the project containing the Add-On Graphic to copy.
- In theProject Explorer,expand theAssetsfolder.
- Expand theAdd-On Graphicsfolder.
- Right-click the Add-On Graphic to copy and selectCopy.
- Open the project where to contain the pasted Add-On Graphic.
- In theProject Explorer,expand theAssetsfolder.
- Expand theAdd-On Graphicsfolder.
- Right-click theAdd-On Graphicsfolder and selectPaste.If a definition of an Add-On Graphic with the same name does not already exist in the project, the definition appears in the folder and the Add-On Graphic appears in theToolbox.
- Pasting the definition of the Add-On Graphic in a different project where an Add-On Graphic definition with the name already exists displays options:
- Keep Both. Append the name of the copied Add-On Graphic definition with _001 or increment number. The definition appears in the folder and the Add-On Graphic appears in theToolbox.
- Replace.Replace the existing Add-On Graphic definition with the copied definition. Any instances of the existing Add-On Graphic are updated with the new definition of the Add-On Graphic.
- Cancel.Do not paste the copied Add-On Graphic definition into the project.TIP:Tips:
- Replacing an alias property in the definition of an Add-On Graphic as a result of a paste when that alias is linked in an instance displays the alias property in thePropertieswindow of the instance. The alias remains linked to the value of the base property in the definition.
- Replacing an alias property in the definition of an Add-On Graphic as a result of a paste when that alias is unlinked in an instance displays the alias property in thePropertieswindow of the instance. The alias property retains its value from the original Add-On Graphic definition. The value of the alias property is not linked to the base property of the pasted Add-On Graphic definition.
- Copying the definition of an Add-On Graphic that has an image that exists in both the source and target projects displays a prompt to replace the image or cancel. Images in a copied Add-On Graphic appear in theAssets > Imagesfolder of theProject Explorer.
The Add-On Graphic is available for use in the project.
