Advance settings - Other options

The following table shows options in the page.
Option
Description
Maintain client tag connection
Select this check box to allow the client to maintain the tag connections for up to 100 displays. A display loads faster for the operator if its tag connections are maintained. Once 100 displays are reached and new displays are opened, the oldest displays are discarded from the group.
This setting will only provide benefit when used in a large system that includes more than 20 View SE clients. This setting can be used to limit the number of tag connections between the client and data server. By limiting the number of tag connections between the client and the data server, memory usage can be regulated on the data server.
Navigation tracking
Navigation tracking and its settings are only applicable to the navigation button and its associated navigational commands.
Select this if the application uses display navigation functionality. If you do not select this, the navigation buttons configured in the application will not work.
  • You can use the
    Desktop Lock
tool to prevent users from restarting the system or switching to other applications from an SE Client window.
  • At runtime, all commands issued by the
    FactoryTalk View SE
Client that are processed on the server, are logged by FactoryTalk Diagnostics on the server computer.

If this is selected, the on-screen keyboard will be shown for all numeric input objects, string input objects, recipe objects, or Alarm and Event objects on any graphic display the client shows, whether or not the display has been set up to show the keyboard.
Note:
The touch keyboard cannot be launched in the RecipePro+ editor if the device has a touchscreen and its operating system is Windows 10 v1511 with tablet mode.

Update Field
button during runtime.
Allow to get project files from an alternate location
Select this check box to enable the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client to get HMI project files rom a location other than the HMI server.
Select this option if you want to optimize access to HMI project files when HMI servers and clients in an application are connected over a slow-performing network. You can use an alternate location only if the client configuration is for a
FactoryTalk View SE
network distributed application. The alternate location must be set up manually.
