Options to show on-screen keyboard

Use the on-screen keyboard for applications that will be run on touch-screen terminals where keyboard input is required. The following table shows the options that FactoryTalk View SE supports to show the on-screen keyboard.
Options
Description
Display On-screen Keyboard
This option applies to a numeric or string input object.
You can find it in the
General
tab of the
Numeric Input Properties
or
String Input Properties
dialog box.
Display On-screen Keyboard for Whole Display
The option applies to a display.
You can find it in the
Behavior
tab of the
Display Settings
dialog box.
It takes precedence over the
Display On-screen Keyboard
option. If the on-screen keyboard is turned on for a display, the on-screen keyboard will be shown for all numeric input objects, string input objects, recipe objects, or Alarm and Event objects on the current display, whether or not the individual object has been set up to show the keyboard.
On-screen keyboard: Always use on-screen keyboard for operator entry
The option applies to a display client.
You can find it in
Advanced settings

of
FactoryTalk View SE Client Wizard
.
It takes precedence over the other two options above. If the on-screen keyboard is turned on for a display client, the on-screen keyboard will be shown for all numeric input objects, string input objects, recipe objects, or Alarm and Event objects on any graphic display the client shows, whether or not the display or object has been set up to show the keyboard.
