Options on the Download tab

The following table shows the options on the
Download
tab.
Options
Descriptions
Source file
Type the path to the source file or click the
Browse
button (…) to open the
Select File
dialog box, browse for the source file, and click
Open
.
If you want to select a font file, in the
Select File to Download
dialog box, select
True Type Font Files (*.ttf, *.ttc)
.
Download as
  • If you want to rename the file that is transferred to the destination, select this check box, and in the box, type the new name.
    The name must not contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > .
    Do not specify a path.
    The name will automatically be given the same file extension as the file in the
    Source file
    box. If you type an extension, it must be the same as that of the source file.
  • If you clear this check box, the file will be saved at the destination under the name that appears in the
    Source file
    box. This name will appear in the box, but will not be available for edit.
  • If the file exists at the destination, you will be prompted to overwrite it.
Destination storage type
Options include:
  • Internal Storage
  • External Storage 1
  • External Storage 2
Run application at start-up
If you want the transferred runtime application to start as soon as the download is finished, select this check box.
Replace communications
If you want the
FactoryTalk Linx
communications file in the downloaded application to replace the
FactoryTalk Linx
communication file presently on the terminal when the application starts, select this check box.
This check box is only available when the
Run application at start-up
check box is selected.
Delete Log Files
If you want to delete the log files when the application starts, select this check box.
This check box is only available when the
Run application at start-up
check box is selected.
Select destination terminal
The
FactoryTalk Linx
communication tree shows all the hardware available on the network.
