Options dialog box: Archive Options

How do I open the Options: Archive Options dialog box?
  1. Select
    Tools > Options
    .
  2. Under
    Category
     on the left side of the dialog box, select
    Archive Options
    .
Use the
Options: Archive Options
 dialog box to set if RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 Logix Designer application files are automatically linked to FactoryTalk AssetCentre Archive.
By default, the checkbox before
Automatically link RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 Logix Designer Application Files to Archive
 is selected. When this function is enabled, getting or checking out an ACD file from Archive generates an ASC file. The ASC file allows you to use Logix Designer to perform archive operations, such as checking in files, without direct interaction with the FactoryTalk AssetCentre client. It is recommended you keep this option selected at all times.
In rare cases, especially when the asset tree has a large number of assets, the use of ASC files may affect system response time when opening project files. You may clear the
Automatically link RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 Logix Designer Application Files to Archive
 checkbox. When this function is disabled, getting or checking out an ACD file from Archive doesn't generate the ASC file. This may improve system response time when opening project files, but you cannot perform any archive operations in Logix Designer. The following commands under
File > Source Control
in Logix Designer become unavailable:
  • Check In
  • Undo Check Out
  • Show Differences
