Items in the Quick Search dialog box

Items in the dialog box include:
  • Search Data Source
Define the scope of the search by selecting one of the following options:
    • Log to Search
Select the desired log — Event Log, Audit Log, or Diagnostics and Health Log — on which you want to perform the Quick Search. You must first show the desired log on the
      Logs
tab before performing a Quick Search on the log selected in this field.
    • Search within the items currently being displayed
Searches only the records shown in Logs View. You can change the number of shown records.
    • Search within the database on server
Searches the entire log, whether the records currently appear in Logs View or not. Select this option to specify the maximum number of records that the search will return. The search will return the most recent records logged, up to the number specified. To search the Archive History, you must use FactoryTalk AssetCentre's Searches.
    • Limit number of records returned (between 1 and 5000)
Limit the number of records returned by entering the desired number. FactoryTalk AssetCentre will show up to the indicated number of records, depending on the number of records found in the search. Any records over the indicated number will not be shown.
  • Search Conditions
    • Field
Select the fields to be included in the Quick Search. For example, if you are looking for the audits generated by RSLogix 5 in a certain time frame, select the checkboxes for
      Resource
      and
      Occurred Time
fields. If you perform a Quick Search based on Logged Time, you can only enter a date, not a time. This is because it would be impossible to return Quick Search results on an exact time.
    • Compare Operator
Place the pointer over this cell for the selected field. Click the dropdown arrow that appears to select the desired operator. For example, select
      <=
for records that occurred on or before a certain date.
    • Compare Value
Place the pointer over this cell for the selected field. Click the dropdown arrow that appears to select the value for the field. For other fields that do not have dropdown arrows, simply enter the text to find. Search text is not case-sensitive so if
      bob's computer
is entered, the Quick Search will also find
      Bob's Computer
      .
  • Match
    • All Condition(s)
Find records that match every condition specified. This is like putting an
      and
between all conditions. Therefore, you could find all records with attachments that were logged before 11/01/2007 and that have a severity of Warning. All of the conditions would have to be true for each record.
    • Any Condition(s)
Find records that match any of the conditions specified. This is like putting an
      or
between all conditions. Therefore, you could find all records with attachments, records logged before 11/01/2007, or records that have a severity of Warning. Any of the conditions could be true for each record.
