Items in TIA Portal Addressing dialog box
Items in the dialog box include:
- Communication protocolSelect the protocol used to communicate to the physical device. Communication protocols include PN/IE, PROFIBUS, and MPI.
- (PN/IE only) IP AddressType the IP address of the physical device. For example: 192.168.1.11
- (PROFIBUS only) PROFIBUS AddressType the PROFIBUS address. For example: 2. The address of the interface must be from 1 through 126.
- (optional) Access PasswordEnter the Password only if the controller access level is set toNo accessorHMI access. Otherwise, it is not required.TIP: This setting is applicable for TIA Portal V15.1 and later.
- Only allow secure PG/PC and HMI communicationCheck this box if you only want to allow secure PG/PC and HMI communication.TIP:
- This setting can be used with S7-1200 controllers V4.5 and later, S7-1500 controllers V2.9 and later, or ET200 controllers V2.9 and later. Care must be taken to ensure that this setting in FactoryTalk AssetCentre matches the setting in the TIA Portal projects. Make sure both are set toSecureor TIA Portal projects are set toLegacy and Secure.
- This setting is applicable for TIA Portal V17 and later.
- When performing disaster recovery with TIA Portal V19, if your controller access level is set toNo access (complete protection)orHMI access, regardless of whether this checkbox in TIA Portal projects is selected or not, this checkbox must be selected in FactoryTalk AssetCentre system for communications to work properly.
