Settings in the Backup Configuration dialog box
The following table describes the settings in the
Backup Configuration
dialog box.Settings | Descriptions |

Local FactoryTalk Directory and Remote FactoryTalk Directory | Select the FactoryTalk Directory that hosts the FactoryTalk View Site Edition application. |
User name | Enter the user name to sign in to FactoryTalk. Note: The Azure AD and OpenID Connect user credentials are not supported. |
Password | Enter the password of the user name used to sign in to FactoryTalk. The password is encrypted in the database. |
Connect | Click to check whether the user name and password are valid. If the user name and password are valid, the tree view of FactoryTalk View Site Edition applications shows in the Backup section. |
Server name | Enter the FactoryTalk Directory server name. |
Application path | Enter the application path for the FactoryTalk View Site Edition asset that you want to back up. The format must follow Network(computer name)\application name . |
Backup | Shows the tree view of FactoryTalk View Site Edition applications that you can choose to back up. Only one application can be selected at a time. The applications shown here are only network applications. |
Encrypt the backup | Select this checkbox to encrypt the backup file. Encryption protects the file against unauthorized changes. Each version of the backup file can be created with a password independently. The Password and Confirm password text boxes become available upon selecting the checkbox. |
Password | Enter a password for backup file encryption. |
Confirm password | Enter the same password that you entered in the Password text box. |
