Add FactoryTalk View Site Edition dialog box
How do I open the Add FactoryTalk View Site Edition dialog box?
- To enter Design mode if you are not already in it, click
. - In the Asset Catalog, expand theSCADA, EOI and FactoryTalk Itemsnode.
- Drag a FactoryTalk View Site Edition asset onto the tree in the Asset View.
Use the
Add FactoryTalk View Site
Edition
dialog box to add a FactoryTalk View Site Edition asset to the asset tree. You can add a FactoryTalk View Site Edition asset in the root or in a container. This asset allows you to run a schedule that backs up FactoryTalk View Site Edition network applications, including HMI server, FactoryTalk Directory, FactoryTalk Linx, and FactoryTalk Alarms and Events data. FactoryTalk AssetCentre only supports running a schedule on FactoryTalk View Site Edition version 11.00 or later.
TIP:
The agent computer that is to run a schedule on the asset must have FactoryTalk View Studio Enterprise installed and activated. Do not back up the same FactoryTalk Site Edition application repetitively with multiple agents simultaneously. Doing so will lead to a system error.
Disaster recovery schedules for FactoryTalk View Site Edition and FactoryTalk Directory assets cannot be run at the same time on an agent computer.
The FactoryTalk View Site Edition asset is added to the asset tree as soon as this dialog box opens. Clicking
Cancel
in this dialog box abandons any changes made to the asset properties, but leaves the asset in the tree.
IMPORTANT:
When performing a disaster recovery schedule for FactoryTalk View Site Edition, simultaneously running a disaster recovery schedule for assets that use the VerificationAgent service might cause errors with the messages "Error: could not load agent" and "Error: could not load Verification agent".
Assets that use the VerificationAgent service to run disaster recovery schedules include Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller, Allen-Bradley PanelView, Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus, Allen-Bradley MobileView, Allen-Bradley MicroLogix Controller, Allen-Bradley PLC-5, and Allen-Bradley SLC 500 Controller.
To avoid this problem, adjust the time intervals between disaster recovery schedules for FactoryTalk View Site Edition and disaster recovery schedules for assets that use the VerificationAgent service to prevent overlap. The interval duration depends on the size of the system, larger systems generally require longer intervals.
